Chairman of the Everton Former Players’ Foundation Laurence Lee: “I was devastated to hear this tragic news. Dave Hickson epitomised the fighting spirit of Everton F.C. I am too young to have ever seen him give his all for the Blues but I will always remember his undying love for the Club as an unrivalled Ambassador.
He conducted the Club Tours as enthusiastically as if he were showing you around his own home – which indeed Goodison Park was. He is irreplaceable and will be missed by Evertonians Worldwide.”

Fellow teammate and Everton Legend Derek Temple said this about Dave: “I was Dave’s inside forward and he was a very very Good Footballer. I got a few goals as his partner as he would take the knocks for me to score the goals. He’ll be sadly missed.”

Tony McNamara who made his Everton debut in the same game as Dave: “He was a real tear away type player but off it he was a real gentleman. He didn’t worry about getting injured he just gave his all for the cause and was great teammate and great friend. A great loss to Everton.”

Team mate John Sutherland paid him this tribute: “Dave was a very very good player always got stuck in and was a trier who never gave up. Everton always meant so much to him.”

Kenny Birch another teammate said this: “He was a gentle giant he could play football with the best of them and he could play the rough stuff if it needed to be played. He will be greatly missed.”

Jimmy Harris who took over from Dave when he first left the club: “He was the Centre Forward I took over from and when he came back I moved to the wing. We struck up a good playing relationship. He was a head down very strong very direct sort of player.”

A fellow legendary No.9 Joe Royle made this tribute: “He was my first Everton idol I stood in the Paddock and marvelled at his bravery and his tricky and skill. For all his Passion and such Aggression on the field when you met him off it he was a true true gentleman. He will be a great loss to all Evertonians and will be sadly missed by us all”

Marco Cable Management /2012/04/marco-cable-management/ /2012/04/marco-cable-management/#comments Tue, 24 Apr 2012 14:14:32 +0000 /?p=6915 Marco Cable Management has sponsored this year’s Everton Former Players’ Foundation Golf Day which is being held in conjunction with Everton in the Community.

The company has also provided the Former Players’ Foundation with T-Shirts and Sweaters for fund raising activities.

E.F.P.F would like to thank Marco’s for its generous support.

please click on the name above to find the company website

Marco Cable Management was launched in 2003 by industry expert, Ian MacGregor, as a UK-based cable management manufacturer of quality uPVC data containment systems and Steel Wire Cable Tray products.

A service driven business with an over-riding focus on meeting the needs of Electrical Consultants and Installers, in partner¬ship with the Electrical Distributor, Marco has maintained a commitment to developing and enhancing product ranges and accessories that suit existing, new and emerging markets. In 2004, the company began to manufacture Bench Trunking and Power Poles, marking the beginnings of a new stream of accessories to support the installation process.

Investment in machinery has been vital enabling the company to develop in line with its business strategy, and 2005 saw Marco secure a host of new machines and equipment. All products are manufactured in-house within the UK, ensuring quality and standards are upheld. The following year saw Marco launch its Cat-6 range which opened the door to a new generation of customers, essentially taking the company to its next level. Now with two sites in North Wales, the company operates a separate storage facility to ensure high stock levels are sustained making way to step up manufacturing output at the company’s original site.

Marco’s workforce has grown steadily through the years and today the company employs over 60 people, including a sales team who provide nationwide coverage. All employees are highly skilled and trained within their area of focus and are encouraged to up-skill and develop professionally within the company. 2007 saw Marco recognised for its achievements and was presented a series of industry, local and national business awards. The company prides itself on its high staff retention rates and positive employment ethos.

Quality is imperative and the company operates a high specification in-house testing programme, ensuring all products are fully compliant with IEC61537 and related standards. Regular full deflection tests are carried out on all products alongside alternative configuration testing with a commitment to develop¬ing the next generation of products for both the UK and European markets. The in house ‘kit;’ allowed Marco to develop its product ranges using a controlled and organic approach, subsequently launching it s next generation of Steel Wire Cable Tray range in 2008.

The company has a solid group structure in place with strong leadership, an external sales force as well as a central sales team, product development, administration and financial teams. A new management team was appointed in 2009, made up of industry experts, each a key figure in the cable containment sector. With such firm foundations in place, the company has been ideally positioned to continue to deliver its ongoing growth and development strategy, and in 2010 a programme of investment was rolled out culminating in the launch of Elite, a new uPVC trunking system.

Quality, service and trust continue to underpin the Marco ethos and it is these principles that drive the business further forward. With exciting plans ahead, the company looks forward to building on its success to date, developing its customer base and launching new products and ranges that meet the needs of a changing building environment.
